Japanese design visionary Takahiro Miyashita originally rose to prominence as the founder of avant-garde cult label Number (N)ine.

Parting ways with the brand in 2009, Miyashita went on to introduce a fashion project that would more accurately reflect his personal style, aptly dubbed TAKAHIROMIYASHITA TheSoloist.

The name "The Soloist." is Miyashita's wish for each individual involved in the clothing industry to have a solitary spirit as a "soloist," and it is also an expression of his determination to return to the world of clothing.

In 2011, the brand's first flagship store "grocerystore." was opened in Minami Aoyama. From 2015AW collection, TAKAHIROMIYASHITATheSoloist had moved their exhibition to Paris.

In 2017, he held his first runway show as "TAKAHIROMIYASHITATheSoloist." at Amazon Fashion Week Tokyo 2018 S/S. In January 2018, "UNDERCOVER" by Jun Takahashi and "TAKAHIROMIYASHITATheSoloist." by Takahiro Miyashita had hold a joint show of their 2018 A/W men's collection as guest designers at the 93rd Pitti Imagine Uomo.

In September 2018. The flagship store had reopened as "TAKAHIROMIYASHITATheSoloist. Miyashita had joined the "Paris Fashion Week" from the 2019 A/W collection.

This was his first runway show in Paris for the brand in 10 years since his last show for "NUMBER (N)INE" in 2009.
